Astronomy Friday — Eagle Nebula And The Pillars Of Creation
Messier 16, also known as the Eagle nebula, is young open cluster of stars surrounded by an emission nebula of gas and dust. The index finger-like cloud pointing downward is a column of hydrogen gas and dust that is part of what’s known as the “Pillars of Creation”.
