If Trump has demonstrated anything, it is that no one knows what “electability” really means. Nor should polls this far out from the election, especially before there have been any primaries contested, be considered in the “electability” equation. Yes, there is a danger the Democratic candidate could be too progressive for the country. There is also the danger that the candidate could be too moderate, turning off extreme progressives. Or there is a danger that the Democratic candidate will not have strong enough support among the critical voting bloc of black women. Lots of possibilities and dangers but, in the end, it is Democratic voters who will choose the Democratic nominee.
