These Northern Diamondback Terrapins like to hang out on this log when the afternoon sun comes around. Diamondback Terrapins are the only species of turtle in North America that spends its life in the brackish waters of tidal estuaries such as our creek. The species is not yet threatened or endangered but is on the list of special concern.
